Thank you for the invitation to post on your forum! I apologize for a few things right away, first for posting in English on a French forum (desole!) and for maybe posting in the wrong area (moderator please move as needed), and for being a tourist and wanting to meet local Parisians that own MX-5's (as a pedestrian relying on public transport).
But... I am very excited for my next visit to France and am hoping to organize a small, little, tiny MX-5 mini-meet while transiting through Paris to fly back home to New York.
My time in Paris will be very limited. I will probably arrive Monday, August 1st, have a whole day of being a tourist on Tuesday, August 2nd and fly out early morning Wednesday, August 3rd.
I will spend three weeks in Europe volunteering as a marshal (commissaire) for a few Motorsport events: DTM at Zandvoort (Netherlands), WEC 6h at Nurburgring (Germany) and Spa 24h at Spa-Francorchamps (Belgium). My goal is to meet MX-5 owners in each country I visit, even though most of the time I will be stuck at the race track and not very mobile.
My previous marshaling trips allowed me to do MX-5 mini-meets in Southeast Asia and the South Pacific. I organized very successful get togethers in Bangkok, Thailand; Singapore; Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia; Sydney, Australia and Auckland, New Zealand. I would like to do the same on my trip to Europe.
I realize it will be hard because I'm only in town on a week day (not weekend when more people are free, but I'm happy to meet after work or during lunch), and that its harder for me to go to the suburbs to meet with people as I rely on public transportation in the city. But I think it's possible!
