I bought 4 new badges from MX5 Parts, I used wet & dry paper to reduce the gloss on the chrome, (280 grade).
I then sprayed the badges with etch primer and allowed to dry for 24hrs.

I then painted the badges with gloss black and then used clear coat to seal them.

With the "Skyactive" badge, I used the same process but applied approximately 7 coats of black paint.
When this paint was completely dry, around 3 days, I sprayed over the black with the orange, making sure that it fills in the lettering.
When the orange was completely dry , (around 2 days) I VERY carefully sanded down the orange with 1500 grade wet & dry to reveal the black underneath the orange, once I had revealed the black and left the orange in the lettering I applied the clear coat over the top.

Hopefully I have explained this and you have been able to understand my process.

That's really cool. For sure the best way, the result is amazing. How it was, for the replacement itself ? Are they glued or secured by screw or another way ?

The badges are secured with double sided tape, pins with spire clips at the rear, to remove you have to delicately separate the tape from the body, but when you pull the badge, the pins break. To re-use the badges it's possible just to replace the double sided tape.

Yes I understand your English and thank you for all explanations. So I tell myself that if you bought new logos and then paint them I also take directly the kit of logos Mazda gloss black from Rev9. When I saw the quality of your painting on the logos I suspected that it was not painted directly on the logos already mounted on the car. Mazda badges front and back are also clipped not just glued?

Bien sûr que c'est possible mais cela vas coûter très cher car il faudra passer par un carrossier pour reboucher les trous au mastic et faire repeindre les éléments où les badges était fixés.

The shipping costs are not expensive for the badges kit is 10.38 euros for France. The logos are not American but are Mazda OEM parts is well described in the announcement. In the end bought the complete kit in black shining on Rev9 is not much more expensive than bought OEM Mazda logos separately as well as the paint and the result is about to be perfect too with less work.

It is especially the Skyactive Technology logo which is the most complicated to paint since the original writing is already black and so for me it will be less headache to bought the logo kit on Rev9 in the end even if it is a bit more expensive.

I removed the original, (pictured below) and fitted some Maruko klaxons, from a Subaru Legacy...I bought from ebay for £20 !

The OEM kit is 70 € at MX5parts
The black kit is 255 $ (228 €) at Rev9

Bien sur que c'est moins cher je ne dis absolument pas le contraire spongedid, mais faut encore rajouter la peinture même si c'est pas cher, le travail mis en oeuvre pour peindre les logos et ce que je voulais dire aussi c'est pour le badge Skyactiv Technology que c'est très difficile d'obtenir un résultat aussi parfait au niveau des lettrages qui ressortent couleur alu. Après ce qui est dommage c'est de ne pas pouvoir acheté ce badge Skyactiv noir brillant et alu séparément sur Rev9 pour pouvoir prendre le reste sur MX5parts et les peindre soit même.
